Poetry Slam

Slam is spoken poetry that emerged in the 1980s on the streets of the United States. It was created as a competition to attract people who had much to say, as they believed that poetry was an exclusive domain of academic circles. This poetic battle celebrates words, voice, encounter, and listening. It has its rules: first and foremost, it must be original. Additionally, it cannot exceed three minutes and does not utilize costumes or sets. Ultimately, only the voice and intonation serve to convey the message. The jury consists of individuals chosen from the audience, who score from 0 to 10. However, the jury is also judged by the audience, which may disagree with the scores given and often expresses their opinions loudly.
