Edson Spinello is a Brazilian telenovela director and showrunner. He worked as the general director of telenovelas at TV Globo, where he was responsible for "Malhação," successfully recovering its ratings. Currently at RecordTV, he directed shows such as "Bela a Feia" and "Rei Davi," the latter being a series that achieved success on Fox Mundo in the USA, as well as leading ratings in Brazil, solidifying Record's position in the biblical market. He was part of RecordTV's artistic committee that selects projects in the area of television drama. He directed the series "Na Mira do Crime" for Fox and served as a script consultant for the feature film "Sobrevivente Urbano," which won 11 international awards. He directed the telenovela "Apocalipse," the first contemporary biblical telenovela. In 2023, he directed the film "Mamonas: o impossível não existe" as well as the series "Mamonas" for Sony and Record, which currently has no release date.
