Ms. Vogt will discuss the role of the Costume Designer in bringing character, color, and emotion to the feature film through wardrobe design.  She will describe how she initially conceptualizes a character's look, based on the character's place in the story, as well as the unique qualities each individual actor brings to his or her role -- and how that character evolves through sketches, fittings, and directorial input.  She will illustrate her talk with film clips, stills, and sketches from her own work.

Ms. Vogt is a member of the Costume Designers branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and a graduate of both the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and the Art Center College of Design in California.
